Today, my cell phone rang while I was still asleep. I picked it up, half asleep, only to find it was a wrong number from some guy. Three minutes later I receive a text message saying "Hey, you sound cute..." from the same number. I looked to see if he was local. I'm that desperate. FML

He was local, no I didn't respond. I live in a less densely populated area (i.e. small town) so it's very easy to see where he was from. I can even pinpoint his cellular carrier by his area code+***. That's how few places offer cell service in wisconsin

how is that desperation? Girl he said you sounded cute, you better hop on that right there! COME ON. It's not bad to find a man in different, non-conventional situations. It makes for cutesy stories to tell your friends in the future, so how did you guys meet? at least you can say "over the phone, it's a funny story" instead of, "we were both playing WoW"

The same thing happened to me. On the second callback he began asking sexual questions which I hung up on him. He then called back and asked could I talk to him so he could jack off. I unplugged the phone for the rest of the day. I found it weird that he kept the wrong number since the calls were a few days apart and I didn't encourage him to call back. Basically the equivalent of the sleazy online pickup from a guy who can't even afford a computer. I don't think you're as desperate as him.
