Today, it was my last day working at my company. The whole staff was summoned to a meeting, but I didn't see the point of going, so I left discreetly. I “discreetly” missed the surprise party that my colleagues had organized for me. FML

Well this is completely your own fault. I mean, it was your last day, you couldn't stick it out and wait until the end of the day to leave? Even if the party wasn't planned or wasn't for you, saying good bye to everyone at the end of the day would be polite.

YDI, your employer can reach out to your next employer and inform them that you ducked out early. It goes to show that you are irresponsible. As well as you couldn't even take the time to say goodbye to your coworkers? Obviously someone cared enough to throw you a party. I say good riddance and they are better off without your selfishness

It didn't occur to you that they might have been throwing a going-away party for you? Or that even if it is your last day, it's nice to attend a meeting anyway? It's a total YDI.

Well, since you did suspect it, the surprise wouldn't have been ruined! I feel sorta bad for you, but it's not like the last day of school when you can just skip.
