I had a boss like that. He would get upset very easily and don't you dare mention his height. He suffered from really low self esteem that's why he was so aggressive. Perhaps this is your bosses problem? Also consider changing your expression. People tend to get a 'mad' look when concentrating on what somebody is saying.
