Well, at least you didn't use wood glue? My brother tried to use it once to fix a pair of shoes he tore up trying to skate (after having torn his shins to hell and back a week earlier, mind) to hide that he had been skating. It puffed up and made it look like his shoes looks ridiculous. Mom was unamused.
