Today, I had 45 minutes spare between appointments to do some work at the office. I needed to print out some documents from my laptop. After turning on my laptop, the screen froze, it wouldn't turn off, I couldn't shut it down. It finally unfroze and restarted 2 minutes before I had to leave. FML

Actually you are wrong, nearly every laptop has a removable battery, you might be thinking of a tablet (source: I'm a computer service technician, it's my job to know)

Mine didn't. Ultra books need to be unscrewed to detach the battery. Who has a spare screwdriver. (that was 2012-ish)

OP here...my laptop had slid out of my car earlier that day, somewhat dislodging the battery. I couldn't remove the battery without a screwdriver for leverage, there was no suitable tool in our offices to remove it with. I have now fixed it.
