Today, I flew in to visit my dad, knowing he had a baby. He picked me up from the airport, and while unlocking the door to his house, he told me, "You know, I used to regret leaving you and your three sisters, but after having this baby, I now believe it was destiny." No need to rub it in. FML.

So his plan all along was to leave you and your siblings to have another from a different woman? That's f**ked up, big time

Wow what an amazing "dad". He's definitely delusional. "It's destiny". He's just using phrases to try and feel less guilty about his wrongdoings. He sounds desperate. I think he feels he can somehow redeem himself after taking care of his new baby. Sorry you had to hear such nonsense OP. He wasn't there when he was needed. So his words today are meaningless.

he's not looking for redemption. Being there for his kids trying to earn their love and respect and genuinely hating what he did, that is redemption.

what a prick. i mean if he said the baby caused him to regret leaving you then i wouldn't despise him for abandoning his family but no he thinks it's "Destiny". what an absolute unforgivable, irredeemable, peice of shit
