Today, I didn't know how Uber worked for first timers. Having a first time $10 discount, it stated I had to pay $3. The driver sounded so sad and disappointed about it, and I didn't know the company would pay the discounted amount. I felt bad for him so I gave him $10, overpaying by $10. FML

I say you're a stand up gal for giving a 100% tip.

The uber drivers actually agree when they sign up with uber not to accept cash tips. That's what some of them have told me. However, lyft drivers get paid more per trip than uber drivers and it allows cash and credit tip on the app. Moral of the story: use Lyft if it's in your area!

I work for Uber. I just double checked that, and it isn't true. Most people just don't tip because they don't want to or think the tip is built in to the fare. Uber has some problems, but so does Lyft.

Uber driver here yes we accept cash tips 1 in 10 riders will tip Uber won't add a tip option to the app in general no matter how much extra service I do for someone, no tip. in general Uber is not a good thing for the driver drivers in general make less than $15 an hour if they are even able to make that
