Today, I broke up with the guy I was seeing because he has a bad temper. He refused to believe me and decided that the best way to prove me wrong was to completely destroy my newly built house, inside and out, while I was at work. FML

Hey, guys! I'm OP. I'm glad most of you are supportive about this! Charges have been filed and he will be sued for all damages. He actually did break in, and he broke all the windows and doors, smashed all the lights and mirrors, took a hammer to the brick outside and the walls inside, and destroyed my deck. I had mini cameras installed to make sure no one would steal anything while the house was still being worked on, so I've got irrefutable proof that it was him and slowly but surely he will be brought down.

Involve the police. Someone capable of that is a criminal and may decide to go further and take it out on you

Put a restraining order on him. With a temper like that he surely wont be glad you broke up with him in the future.

And you wonder why he destroyed the place? Gosh some people need to wake up specially females lol. Dumping him is a big no no, and dating him longer than the time it takes to get to know each other another no no lol.

I'd like for you to find an "easy" way out of an abusive relationship. I saw the signs earlier than most, which is why I broke up with him. You know nothing about this situation besides what is stated in the FML post, and you're ignorant for saying females need to wake up. Me breaking up with him is me "waking up." If you had a daughter who was in my situation you wouldn't tell her to "wake up," you'd be on a damn manhunt. So, if there's anyone that needs to wake up here it's you.

sigh. can totally related. something of the similar nature happened to me recently and went on for about a month... totally feel for u. =(

Good lord, that's scary. So, here's the great news for you: you've got hella good instincts for self preservation. Keep yourself safe, and good luck.

With your house trashed and your ex a soon-to-be inmate, sounds like you've got the makin's of a country song! Yeehaw!

Get a restraining order and have him arrested. Criminal mischief, vandalism, illegal trespass , destruction of property

This guy needs a strait jacket. Glad you can take him for everything he's destroyed, hope he actually has the money for it.
