Smash the patriarchy!

Today, I got home to my son with a bruised face and my daughter locked in her room. Apparently, when she got home from work, her unemployed brother asked her when she was going to cook dinner, so she punched him in the head. He’s so entitled that he actually thought he’d get sympathy from me. FML

how old is your unemployed son? who raised him with this entitled attitude? seems like he was able to get away with a lot more then his sister, and isn't being taught that his place is equal not better

At the very most, perhaps an overreaction but it is what it is. If you want. scold your son so he can get a job and a girlfriend without that exigent attitude.

But both the sister and the mum reacted appropriately (punch not included) to his request, doesn’t sound like his upbringing as much as his lazy attitude

That is not how an adult should react to a stupid question. I think both your kids were wrong.

And where's the part where you told your daughter to leave her room and get to the kitchen. Dinner's not gonna make its damn self!

tell your daughter violence isn't the answer (Mostly to say you did...) and then make it open when you explain to your son he needs to grow up and get a job, or start acting like a proper house bitch and having the place clean, dishes done, food cooked etc. more than 1 way to contribute to a household.

I would have punched him too and told him to get a job. I know violence isn't the answer, but entitled people are so annoying. Make your son get a job or kick him out.

Would you ever reacted the same way if the genders were reversed? If your daughter asked your son when are you going to take out the trash, and he punched her? I can't tell from this post how severe his lack of responsibility is or how light-heartedly he might have asked about dinner, but physical abuse is never okay.
