Today, after waiting months to take my driver's test, I ended up driving on the wrong side of the road and failed in the first minute. FML

I don't like to be judgemental but that does sound like a schoolboy error!

I can understand losing your nerve and perhaps turning the wrong blinker on, or stopping a little too quickly for the instructors tastes, but driving on the wrong side of the road? You've grown up watching your parents do it for sixteen years or more. There is no excuse for that. Nervous or not.

maybe they're from the UK orignally and moved over?

I don't understand how this happened. Did you grow up in the UK or any other country that drives on the left?

Eh, I failed my first driving test for driving on the wrong side of the road -- I was turning into a neighborhood street where a 16 wheel truck was parked on the right side, so as I was turning in I went for the left side of the street in order to avoid it. Apparently I was suppose to keep on the right side even if the entire right side was blocked by the truck.

You probably aren't ready to drive on your own yet.
