Out of the blue

Today, on my last day of vacation with my family, and after moving my kid back home after their college graduation, I received a text message from my supervisor that said, “Hello, your services are no longer needed" and that they would pack up my desk and mail it to me. I can’t get anyone to explain why or even answer me. FML

Straight to Unemployment and if you've got the cash, detour via an employment lawyer on your way.

That ******* blows. Grab unemployment and start a business.

That’s life in most of the USA - You can be fired or laid off for no reason. If you live in an “at will employment state” you have no recourse except unemployment and a desperate search for a new job. Sorry OP - That sucks!

I wonder if whoever covered for you uncovered something, or at least thinks they did. I once worked for a company where the CFO was embezzling. She was able to keep it hidden until she got a new job and then her replacment almost immediately discovered things weren't adding up.
