Today, it's my mother's birthday so I took her out to lunch. On the way there, we had a car accident. It was my fault. For my mother's birthday I gave her 3 broken ribs. FML

Shit happens. I know you didn't mean it, but life doesn't always play out beautifully. I know you feel guilty as hell right now, and really, that's the only punishment you need. You two should be grateful that you're both alive. Good luck, man.

oh that's ouch, poor mom but glad to know that it went good. car crash and broken ribs sound like your where driving to fast and It could end much worst.

Even if it was your fault, everybody makes mistakes driving. those saying YDI's must be perfect people who've never made mistakes in their lives. orrrr people who've never driven and don't know the challenges drivers face =] you poor thing. she'll be okay, hopefully she'll have a good sense of humour about it =]
