Better start packing.
Maybe he/she has schizophrenia, maybe not. Any excuse to be a loser in Mom's basement his whole life.
It's probably self-diagnosed schizophrenia, contagious via Tiktok.
Right. Having any form of mental challenge is very hip and cool right now.
If you Mum has decided that you should pay rent, to remain living in her house then you have to pay rent. As for the notice period, you will have to check local law. She cannot give you less notice than the law states because of ill health. Are there any groups/charities that help people with mental health problems? Are you working or claiming any money you are entitled to? Good Luck.
Right. There are taxpayer-funded programs for some mentally ill people to live in a group home, which often works out well. Mom did her part, he doesn't get to be a burden forever.
I think a lot of people would be very interested to learn that obesity means you don't have to pay rent. That's a new one!
just grow up and pay your mom rent or move out!
1) You are NOT entitled to live with your parents rent/expense free once you are a legal adult. 2) Of you have professionally diagnosed schizophrenia, please seek out help. Everyone around you will appreciate you more when you have the proper treatments. 3) I'm also obese at 176 pounds. so what? Does this obligate my family to cowtow to my every whim and allow me to mooch off of them? Not just no but HELL NO! S8nce it appears you are a chronological adult, grow the F*** UP! Take responsibility and GTFO. Adulting is not easy, but it's nowhere as hard as many make it out to be.

While I empathize with your struggle with schizophrenia, the rest is no excuse.
