Today, it’s the middle of my vacation and I just got a notification saying my time off request was denied. A month earlier, I got the notice saying it was approved. I’m literally 4 states over. I’m not going to have a job when I get back. FML

It’s not your fault it was changed to denied while you were on vacation when it was already approved

Use the remainder of your vacation looking for an aggressive employment lawyer. If you have your approval in writing, you'll likely get a settlement that will give you years of vacation.

She did get approval, went on vacation and while there, they withdrew the approval retroactively.

Did you keep your approval notice? Take that right to HR and show them that you'd been approved a month ago.
