Today, my newborn son is only four days-old. My in-laws have been over five times already. FML

I know it can be frustrating but it sounds like they’re over the moon in love with their grandson. I say put them to work! Have them do the dishes or vacuum. They should be willing to help you out.

You’re allowed to say you need a break! We had a Christmas baby and EVERYONE expected us to attend the family gatherings and when I said heck no, they all showed up at our house all week. It was awful. You’re exhausted, you can’t sit properly, if you’re nursing, it might be a huge learning curve and challenge, and you might have even been told by a nurse that you have to lay down to prevent bruising, but you can’t because people just came to your house. I agree with one comment, ask them to help clean up or make meals and whatnot, or ask them to give you a bit of a break because you’re freaking exhausted. It’s okay, you’re allowed to do that ❤️

If the mothers fine with it, then be thankful. It gives you and her time to relax.

The only time I really liked my late mother-in-law was when she was constantly coming over to help with the newborn baby. You need to change your attitude and be grateful for the help.

Seconding all of this. I understand that grandparents are thrilled to welcome the newest addition to the family. But the parents also need time to rest and bond with their baby, and adjust to the massive changes that have happened.

day six say you and the child need bonding time that doesn't include the in laws
