Today, my mom got angry that I moved stuff in the freezer, and banned me from even opening it in future. I’m in my 30s, I fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now I've lost freezer privileges. FML

Today, my mom decided to clean out my freezer. She freaked out over a box of unbelievably expensive King crab legs that expired over five years ago. My PTSD kicked in and I explained that I got them for a special occasion three days before my girlfriend was diagnosed with lung cancer. I never got that special occasion. I hate me. FML
Today, I threw out all the food in the freezer that my mom had been keeping since 2013. When she found out, she said, "frozen food doesn't go bad." FML
Today, my mom tried to ground me, even though I moved into my own flat to escape her. I told her 'my flat, my rules' so she tried to confiscate my Xbox because 'she’s the boss of me.' The look on her face as the cops took her away was worth the shouting match we’ll have when she makes bail. FML
Today, my dad screamed at me, called me a monster, told me he wanted me to move out, and that I better start looking for an apartment. Why? I slammed the microwave door. FML
Today, I went to my favorite restaurant with my mother. The food took a little longer than usual to arrive and my mom threw a fit, complete with kicking and screaming, in the middle of the restaurant. My mom and I are both banned for life. FML
Today, because my insane mother doesn’t want me getting a job to afford to move out and never see her again, she put my suit in the freezer last night so I couldn’t go to my 9 a.m. interview. I went in a t-shirt instead and they rejected me straight away for not "taking the interview seriously." FML
Today, I got shut in the walk-in freezer at work. I started banging on the door. My boss wouldn't come and open it because she didn't "play games". She thought I was kidding. FML
Today, my mother and I got into a fight over moving boxes. It started with screaming and ended with, “I hate you and hope you feel unloved for the rest of your life.” FML
Today, my mom tried to ground me. In the apartment that I own. Because I didn't eat enough of the dinner that I'd made. FML
Today, my mother and I got into an argument, and she told me to go to my room. I refused, prompting her to slap the shit out of me. I'm 29, and she was visiting me at my own house. FML

first of all thank you for your service! second, if you can I would get your own kind freezer for your stuff, then mom has her freezer and you have yours to move things around to your liking!

Did you fight to secure freezer privileges for the oppressed Iraqi and Afghan people? If your military experience taught you anything, it should have been "Don't **** With Your Superiors!" Just be glad your mom doesn't court martial you and give you a Dishonorable Discharge from HER house.

Once you move out (if you haven't already) you'll get to do whatever you want. it sucks that she banned you from the freezer over something so trivial, especially if you were just visiting. Hopefully she's not just trying to make life hard to get you to move out. The pandemic time is really hard to start trying to become independent, especially with job security being what it is. I had hella trouble finding work in my state and ended up moving clear across the US for a position. They probably would have opened up in my area once the pandemic was in full swing, but I had been waiting 2 months with hospitals saying they wanted 1-2 years experience and I had just gotten my license, so I took the first one that accepted me. It's tough work. but it feels so good to be living alone and to be able to do whatever I want to do while there and not give any care about it. I especially like that I can designate the living room to strictly VR and no one can say a thing about it, Haha. Hopefully you can find a job in these times that pays enough for you to make rent and to buy food/essentials. If not, I guess you'll have to live with it until you can, maybe even save up so when you are ready to move out, you can. Or offer to pay some or all of the electric bill and get your own mini fridge or freezer so you have one you can use. (on top if whatever rent you're paying so she doesn't get mad at you for using up too much electricity)
