When this happened to me, (sub 3 years for 5, girlfriend for boyfriend) I went on the trip anyway because I really wanted to go and he bought the tickets. In your case OP, as the dumpee and the buyer of the tickets, you can boot her. Otherwise, the ticket buyer can't sell to a third party.
