perfectly normal. i've had 3 grandparents die, and all 3 times i'd say stuff like that for several weeks afterward. it takes some getting used to. like when we were cleaning out my grandpa's house after he died, there were several occassions when i called his name to ask what was for lunch or what not. sorry for your loss. losing a friend/family member is hard.
