Fish just look around for more food when hungry! And likely feeding it a bit more wasn't what killed it. Fish are sensitive and you should test its water.

Yeah sadly fish aren't like cats or dogs they will eat themselves to death :( I hope you feel better

When I have steak I will give my small dog a whole can of dog food so he gets full and won't beg. Well, I caught him going outside (doggie door) and puking it up so he had room for begging. Not really fish related but, I wonder if my dog is stupid or genius.

Over feeding causes high nitrates and ammonia levels in a tank. Over feeding can also cause the fishes stomach to burst.

one time I cleaned out my fish tank and made the water a little to hot on accident and then put mr.fish in there 5 minutes later I was flushing him down the toilet singing a sad song
