Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I found out the medications my doctor gave me for depression are making me fat. My main reason for depression is an eating disorder. Now, I'm fat instead of just thinking I am. FML
Today, I found out the medication my doctor gave me for depression is making me fat. My main reason for depression is an eating disorder. Now, I'm fat instead of just thinking I am. FML
Today, I told my step-mom that my medication is causing me to lose weight. She looked me up and down and suggested I triple my dosage. FML
Today, after a year of diet and rigorous exercise, I've still gained weight. Confused, I went to my doctor. Apparently I have a thyroid condition he forgot to mention, and therefore haven't been on medication for, thus causing weight gain. FML
Today, I discovered that of the three medicines I now have to take, all three of them have acne as a side effect. When acne is a side effect, I am 100% guaranteed to get it. FML
Today, I was prescribed two different medications. I was also informed that they will both give me diarrhea for the next two weeks. FML
Today, I realized that acne is a major side effect of a medication I'm taking. The medication is to help me with my anxiety. The acne is creating more anxiety. And the more anxious I get, the more meds I need. And the more my face breaks out. FML
Today, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of weeks ago. The upside is that the diabetic meds I've been prescribed help with weight loss. The takeaway? Diarrhea. Lots and lots of diarrhea. FML
Today, I reached a total of three doctors, one therapist, one psychiatrist, and five prescribed medications, all because my body refuses to let me sleep. FML
Today, I had a doctor's appointment because I've recently lost weight. I'm already underweight, and I was concerned because the weight loss has been causing some other health concerns to worsen. My doctor's exact words of advice? "Eating food usually leads to weight gain." FML

Are you depressed because you're gaining weight?
SHAMUS_the_WITTY 18
I'd go for the one that includes weight gain.

Three medications?? Dang I only have to take one low dose a day. How depressed are you?
luckyd880 12
I def think 3 is excessive! One should be plenty I would think. Or if need be, maybe a stronger dosage of whichever one doesn't cause op to gain weight. I can't help but feel like three mixed together would be unsafe.

46, on your post you commented saying people shouldn't take pills to avoid their problems. I guess upping the dose until something unknown happens is cool, though.

#46 You have entirely too many comments on this thread, and every time I see them I think "man, this chick AGAIN!?" Is it really necessary to be ALL OVER this entire thread?

So. Bored. Can't. Help. But. Comment.

I think that if op IS gonna take the meds then it's prob safer to take one strong dose as opposed to three that each give her crazy side effects. Only seems logical...I still think she should face her problems face on and talk to a therapist (more if she has one already) and find things that make her happy so she doesn't become self reliant on them..they only mask issues. Don't solve them.

If three is a lot then, dang. What do you think about the eleven different meds I take?

All three medications probably aren't for depression. Most likely one is for depression and the other two are for related symptoms like sleep issues, anxiety, panic attacks, etc.. 69- So instead of treating hormone imbalances in the brain, people with depression should just find stuff to make them happy? How about a puppy? That works until it dies. A man? Depending on a person to keep you happy for the rest of your life creates such a great relationship. Food? Or creating massive debt by buying pretty things? If OP's doctor prescribed her medication, obviously it was the best thing for her.

Mine "may cause drowsiness." I sleep about 15 hours out of the day bc of it.. But it's better than crying bc your favorite shoes were misplaced. Or even worse, for absolutely no reason.

Why is she taking three medications?

Well I'm sure you'd rather be happy and a little bigger then depressed and skinny

Don't know how happy I'd be if I gained weight, to be honest.

I have to wonder.. Is this your excuse for gaining a bunch of weight than being to lazy to work it off? When the medication says "may cause weight gain" that usually means (maybe, MAYBE) 20 pounds max... Can't blame the pills.. Eat less calories than you burn. Now stay fit and have fun ;)

And what about the one that causes severe weigth gain? Don't be stupid.
