Today, my wife informed me her wallet was stolen from her unlocked car in our driveway. Three weeks ago, she misplaced her credit card that has all the monthly charges and Amazon tied to it. We've talked a lot about importance of locking her car, and she's constantly looking for her credit cards, license, etc. FML

Sadly, some people are just not really competent at dealing with the ordinary stuff life is made from. Do you want to be her parent or her partner? I have to assume you already knew she had this problem before you married her unless this is a recent change. If this is a fairly recent change, there could be a medical explanation that’s worth checking out.. OP will need to figure out if they are willing to “parent” an adult. By the way, did she start taking a cholesterol medication recently?

Ok, here's what I'll do for you: Send me all your credit card info and next time she loses them, call me and I'll have them canceled. Easy peasy, you're welcome.

Your wife might have some kind of neurodivergence that causes this, I know people with ADHD lose things constantly.

Losing things is one thing (I’d know, adhd with a few TBI’s and memory loss), but even *I* make sure to lock my car doors. Even with my memory issues I manage it. This lady is just plain careless.

If she can't remember to lock her door, then I worry what else she forgets to do.

If she's going to be as responsible as a teenager, then treat her as such and take all those things away from her.
