I once had an older coworker do something similar. I got annoyed with her for something rude she said, and she promptly told me to "grow up," then held her hand up when I tried to respond and said "talk to the hand."
I almost laughed, it was so absurd. The irony was just too much.

Take inspiration from this. Join a dodgeball team. if you can dodge a chair, you can dodge a ball! Also will make for less opportunities to run into the angry chair thrower! hmm... unless they are into dodgeball...
