Well, why the hell not? Raise them from cubs and they're just as amiable and loving as any other slightly-less-than-common pet.

I had two pet raccoons when I was 8 years olds. I'm not joking either. They were evil bastards too.

Are you kidding? Raccoons make the BEST pets if you raise them from babies.... And that includes bottle feeding. Mine is named Gimpy, because he has a bad leg. He basically chills just like a cat or dog.

I had pet raccoons growing up. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world until they got into the garage, drank antifreeze, and died.

I see nothing wrong with owning a raccoon. If people can have venomous snakes/frogs, skunks, possums, hedgehogs and all sorts of other crazy animals then why not a raccoon? I own rats which people consider to be filthy disease ridden vermin but doesn't that also apply to any wild animal? The only difference between pet raccoons and pet rats is pet rats are bred to be healthy while pet raccoons you have to get from the wild.
