Good idea. Sometimes quitters are winners. Surrender, Dorothy!
Knowledge and skill does not come without effort. Instead of giving up on an independent life ask Dad what you should do about the issues as they come up. Or look for a book about home maintenance or if you are a video person google the specific home repair or maintenance issues you have… Be aware that there are some home repair and maintenance issues that should be performed by a person trained to do so unless you are have those particular skills - Such as electrical issues, serious plumbing issues, and roofing repair… Don’t give up too quickly. Skill and knowledge does not come easy, but once you acquire those skills, you usually have them for a lifetime… By the way, where I came from and when I grew up; from childhood though my teen years it was kind of a “Dad” responsibility to teach your children how to fix and build things. My granddad had carpenter skills and my dad worked doing repair and maintenance on appliances and AC. So I was taught early on to deal with things like these. But you aren’t born knowing how to do home maintenance no matter who you are.
Pay Dad to be a handyman. Of course, if you held the flashlight for him while he was hanging ceiling fans or fixing the car, you would not be in this predicament. so it's on him for also failing to teach you before now.
Wikihow has everything. Never be afraid to ask. You not knowing this stuff despite being willing is a failure on the part of the people who were supposed to teach you.
lean on dad but start to learn, that's how it's always done.
You can learn while still having fun. One of the perks of having your own place is you can do everything naked as long as the curtains are down. Of course, you still have to wear an apron and protect your hands while you fry stuff in oil or use harsh cleaning products.
