Today, I was on a date, and I mentioned that I'm divorced, he was fine with that. I said I have two kids, he was fine with that. I mentioned the youngest is autistic, he was not fine with that, got up, and left so fast saying he wants nothing to do with kids like that. I was left with the bill. FML

Except for the bill… he did you a favor. He wasnt ready for that and its ok if somebody isnt ready. The leaving you with the bill wasnt cool at all. He could have handled it better.

I hate to say it, but he is normal and you are exceptionally courageous. It would be easy to call him a coward, but he is just avoiding a very difficult life.

You need to lead with your kid’s condition before going on a date, it’s a serious commitment to make and not everyone is ready, you’re doing a disservice to the both of you by holding back on mentioning it
