Today, my parents decided to visit me. When I first got my apartment I gave them a key "just in case" and today they used this key to enter when I didn't answer their knocking. I didn't answer because I was having sex with my boyfriend. My parents saw everything. They didn't know I was gay. FML

It's really sad to see how many close-minded, bigoted people there are in the 21st century. I thought we had gotten past that. I would really love for someone to explain to me how gays having the right to marry will affect the world negatively in any way, and why it should be a political issue at all. In the 21st century, denying the gays the right to marry is as barbaric as denying the blacks the right to vote. We need a reform, we need to bring back the civil rights movement and truly make this a free country. @OP: I'm sorry that something so embarrassing had to happen in order for your parents to find out, but at least they know now, and now it's their choice to accept you or not. I like to hope that if they love you, it won't matter, but as we clearly see in the statements above, that's not always the case. Also, another observation, I think it's funny how so many of the gay-bashing comments were made by people using the word "yall." Just saying.
