Today, my allergies started up with a vengeance. Yesterday I broke 4 ribs and fractured my sternum. Every time I sneeze, I swear I can feel the broken bones move around. FML

Very true. I happened to have a respiratory infection when I broke two of my ribs. Coughing never hurt so badly.

To all the downvotes: You've probably never been in brutal agony. OP is hopefully on some strong shit, and if he isn't I advise that he goes to the hospital and gets on some strong painkillers asap.

It's not too often somebody gets hooked on painkillers. Sure it's not too rare, but that's why they give you a course and evaluate then keep handing you medicine to get dependant on

That's not always possible; I've been in OP's situation before (traumatic car accident yay) and the painkillers that were strong enough interfered with my ability to function at school. I couldn't risk losing my scholarship so I had to power through the pain. I really hope this isn't the case for OP, because it really sucks. Took me over two months to be able to even breathe deeply without experiencing intense pain.

13 - When you are in genuine pain and take the pain meds per MD orders, you will not become addicted to them. It's when you continue to take them after your pain has ceased or when you take a higher dose than is ordered that you become dependent on them.

Talk to your doctor about some anti-histamines or anti-alergy medicine or something to help suppress the alergies, as well as some pain killers, and maybe a stool softener.

I've had broken ribs before. Unfortunately you can only deal with it. Pills dull it, but don't get rid of the pain in its entirety.

...wow; what exactly did you do or happened to you that caused that much damage? Sounds like you took a bull's headbutt to the chest. Definitely look into a cough suppressant and antihistamine that won't react to any pain medication you are taking.
