Today, I text messaged my mom from Afghanistan to let her know everything was okay. She responded, telling me not to message her so much because "the price of text messages really adds up." FML

That's really shitty coming from your mom, but it does add up, it costs me like 25 cents per message to receive from my husband. Although I really could care less about the costs, but if you are texting her a lot it may be raising her bill. You can write her letters for free (postage is free for you from Afghanistan)
