Today, I had to abandon my normal duties and help out the electrician my boss called, all because my boss couldn't handle speaking to him since he was attractive. She's in her fifties. I'm in my twenties and I'm the more mature one. FML

C8H18 tells us more.

The full immaturity: So the manager and supervisors, (all of which are middleaged females) were at the front of the building with me. Electrician arrives and I let him in the building. By the time I turn around, all the ladies are at the opposite side of the building. I don't think much of that at the time because I know a lot of people aren't comfortable working around wiring. So I help the guy out for the day. Once he left all the ladies suddenly appeared again; giggling and acting like little school girls. My manager started bombarding me with questions like, "What's his name?! He's so handsome! Is he married? When's he coming back? Will you warn me before he does?" I was quite shocked at the behavior honestly. He did return and I caught manager and supervisors spying around corners as we worked. He needed the managers signature for the work he'd done when he was finished. She refused to approach him because she was blushing too much. I had to bring her the paper in the back room before she'd sign it.

I'm honestly not sure how some people get the jobs they get.

Hey, I've had a good lookin' man render me speechless! It happens!

Maybe she's attracted to the guy doing the work and doesn't want to take a chance of hurting her current relationship. It might be stupid but at least she's trying to do the right thing

Wow, when I read the FML, I thought it was funny and a bit ridiculous, but after reading this, they're even more immature than I first thought. They're acting like elementary school girls who have a crush on a boy, spying on him, refusing to interact with him, getting the only "brave" one to be the go between. Seems like they need to grow up a bit, I mean, it's so ridiculous they let it interfere with things and couldn't even communicate with him, like making you bring them the document to sign because they can't approach him. I really want to know what they do when they see an attractive man on the street or in a store that they can't avoid though?

How the hell do people survive going through life like this...

This is inanely ridiculous, so hopefully you got to boss him around a little when they weren't looking to make up for it. ;) lmao.

You are not being paid enough if your work duties are being extended to spokesperson, electrician aid, and matchmaker!

You could say the electrician lit a spark under the boss.

I am surprised the company you work for has survived at all with bosses and supervisors who are so immature. I would seriously start thinking about finding new job before the company tanks.

I've only worked there a month, and it's not surviving. This is the last week (I'm not surprised). We're all losing our jobs. Well...not all. The manager is being transferred to a new location.

I'm sorry about you losing your job! I hope you have something better lined up, otherwise I'm sure something better will come along soon!

You never know, maybe she was recently insulted about her appearance and is trying to get over some self esteem issues. It may have been an over-the-top way to react, but sometimes you have to put yourself in other peoples' shoes.

Perhaps he was so strikingly handsome that he renders nearly all women and men alike completely inept at their jobs. The only ones that can escape are the ones with superpowers. You might have superpowers.
