Today, I had a nightmare and woke up terrified, scaring my roommate. What was the dream? That I'd had a panic attack because my box of Honey Nut Cheerios was torn and the bag inside was improperly folded. FML

smoothies14 tells us more.

The sad part was there wasn't even a box of cheerios in the room at the time (even though there usually is). I had to go to my food spot and double check anyway so I could sleep.

At least you weren't a victim of a cereal killer

Don't worry, I destroyed a city when I found that my clothes were improperly folded, everyone has their breaking point

Today, my roommate woke me up in the middle of the night because of their panic attack. Apparently, they were freaking out about cheerio bags. FML

You better get it right, his NUT's were in that box........

Hey, that's a pretty serious nightmare, OP.

What makes me laugh about this is that in your dream, if it wasn't you that didn't fold it properly, it was probably your roommate.

I can't imagine OP being one to fold things improperly if they have nightmares about it.

Lmao. Sounds like something my best friend would have a nightmare over. XD

I don't mean this in a condescending or rude way but you should talk to someone about what bothers you and how you can work on fixing it so you don't be as scared by stuff like that anymore if you dream about it.

Clearly, the box being torn and the bag being improperly folded bothers the OP! ;)

OCD is not something you get rid of just by talking about it.

22- With consistent therapy it can be treated, yes.

It can be managed to a point, yes, but go away completely, no. Therapists don't have magical powers that can change how our brains operate, they just help people deal with things so they don't affect their lives as much.

Actually #39 OCD can be cured IF it was caused by another mental disorder. For example, people with anxiety can develop OCD as a coping mechanism to help handle their anxiety. Remove or reduce the base anxiety issues, and you remove the OCD. This obviously will not work for everyone, but if OP is having enough worry about the folding of a cereal bag for it to cause them night terrors, then finding someone to talk to for help is a good start. If nothing else, please do not encourage someone NOT to get help simply because it won't 100% fix them. Sometimes even something as small as a 50% improvement is life changing. source: personal experience and research

Thanks guys, but I'm really not one for therapy. It was just one dream and in real life the people around me know what will bother me so they don't do it or they let me fix it. It isn't debilitating at all; I live a normal, successful life.

...seriously, what are you ******* ten years old???

Are you seriously questioning someone's behavior in their DREAMS? Sounds like you have more issues than the OP.

OCD much? Don't worry you're not alone with that...
