If you take financial responsibility of a child from birth then you are pretty much responsible for life even if it's proven the baby isn't yours. At least in Louisiana anyway. It's the reason why if there's a question of paternity you shouldn't ever pay for anything until everything gets settled. Also, if you find out that you have a kid 15 years down the road you can (and probably will!) be sued for unpaid child support. Even though the mother swore up and down it wasn't yours. (I swear all of this info comes from my dad and half-sister)

Okay guys, here's the story: my girlfriend and I were together for nearly two years, and one day she told me she was pregnant. I didn't know how to react at first, but I eventually came to terms with it and became excited for my son.
