Just so you all know, lung cancer isn't curable. It may buy him time, but it's fatal. Sorry to hear, OP. Lost my dad to lung cancer three years ago.

That's absolutely incorrect. It's usually fatal, but it also usually occurs in people over 70, and is often found only when it's already progressed to the later stages, which have lower rates of survival. The survival rate depends on the stage of the disease and the course of treatment. That said, I'm sorry for your loss. My grandfather died of lung cancer when I was little, and there's nothing good about that process.
