Yeah I agree a person should never be rude and say something like that to someone. He was just being an ass.

Were you talking about politics or religion? If either of those topics came up then that might explain the comment. Some people have become so polarized by politics or religion (regardless of the side) that they are unpleasant or uncomfortable to talk to unless you just happen to have that same exact view. Don’t be one of those persons. There is a lot more to life that we can share and talk about.
