Boss makes a pound…

Today, I sat down and worked out I get paid £26000 a year for working 40 hours a week. Meanwhile my boss gets paid £115000 to answer emails when he remembers to and to attend 5 hours of mandatory meetings a month, which he now does over video chat from his vacation cottage in Scotland. FML

I'd casually mention how nice his Scottish cottage is to his bosses boss next time you pass them and just expand if they ask questions...

That is sometimes how it looks. The boss gets the big bucks and the worker bees do the work. And there’s not a damn thing you can do about that… Ultimately if boss really is lazy and not doing their job there will eventually be consequences for them. All you can do is to be sure you do your job… But things are not always what it seems. It is the job of your boss to delegate tasks to get them done. And middle managers report to their own bosses who watch what they do. Stay out of that zone unless your boss is actually doing something clearly illegal or seriously detrimental to the company. Even in those cases that’s a very dangerous zone to get involved in. Worker bees rarely have visibility to the bigger picture and that makes it dangerous for them to take any actions against their boss. It can be a shitty situation, but that’s how things work… You can always look for another, better job - They do exist. But don’t tell anyone at work until you actually get the official offer in writing.
