Today, while I was taking a shower, my boyfriend came into the bathroom to ask me a question. When I got out of the shower, I was greeted with a horrifying cutout of Michael Jackson. I fell backwards, shattering the glass shower door. I needed stitches. FML

Shy_Shiloh tells us more.

In an attempt to stop the 'break up with him' or 'he's an asshole' comments that seem to get posted on every FML involving boyfriends/girlfriends: This was an accident. It was a rather unfortunate one, but an accident nonetheless. It's not like he purposely put me in a dangerous situation like other pranks I've read on here. He was getting me back for a prank I pulled on him a couple of weeks ago. He feels awful about it, but it's not his fault that I lost my balance and fell.

He was definitely pretty creepy looking by the time he died

Depends on which version of him you saw. Pre surgery or post surgery.

Post-surgery. The practically non-existent nose he had makes me shudder

If you went through 10% of the shit he had to endure throughout his life, you wouldn't be such a bitch about his appearance. But clearly you don't mind being superficial, and karma took good care of you ;)

That was so bad, it makes me remember the time... Well I won't go there.

Maybe you can get him back with an equally clever prank!

This was actually payback for a prank I pulled on him a couple of weeks ago. He is absolutely terrified of the little girl from the ring, particularly when she is climbing out of the tv screen. I took put a long black wig and white nightgown on a small dummy roughly the size of the top half of a young kid, set it up against the screen of the tv in our bedroom, and turned on a screenshot of the background during that scene in the movie. Then I pretended to start cuddling him in my sleep just enough to nudge him awake

Ooh then you deserved the revenge but definitely not the stitches, that mud suck, you guys sound like an awesome couple though.

That is some imagination right there OP.

I've seen a video clip of someone doing a version of this, with Poltergeist or something. That is a prank that would actually, literally give me a heart attack.

Not clever at all. What if your injury was a lot more severe? Dont forget to get him to replace that door too.

Scaring someone in the shower is never a good idea. Especially when said shower has a glass fold.

5- It was an accident. He has been apologizing profusely. He went out and bought me flowers after we got home. He feels horrible that I got hurt 10- He didn't scare me in the shower. I was out of the shower when I saw it. He came in to ask if I had seen his keys in order to put the cutout in the bathroom. With the way our bathroom is designed, I couldn't see it until I was completely out of the shower. I was standing on a bath mat, so I didn't slip and fall. I just lost my balance

Understandable loss of balance when being scared

I actually thought the fun police was clever

I'm not really scared of him necessarily, just his face

He obviously wanna be starting something. Time for a prank war!!

Did the doctor give you Propofol before stitching you up?

Since the prank was to scare/startle you, he probably should have posed it outside the bathroom where there's not a high chance of you slipping because you're dripping wet. Not saying he tried to get you hurt, but he really didn't think it through.

I didn't slip. I was out of the shower and standing on a bath mat. I just lost my balance, we could have just as easily happened if it was outside the door. Or in any other room, for that matter

Still not very smart of him. If his goal was to scare you, he could have done it in another room. Chances to slip and hurt yourself are much higher when you just stepped out of the shower. It's common sense.

58- Because it's impossible to lose your balance and fall if your feet are dry and the floor is carpeted... I really don't how to be any clearer about the fact that I didn't slip

Stop trying to back up your comment with bullshit. You already heard OP telling you that you're wrong and don't know what happened so just accept you made an uninformed assumption and were wrong.

Mind saying what your prank on him was?

62- I commented about it earlier. Look for comment #15. It was a reply to comment #4
