Milk can spoil in a little over an hour at body temperature. So if the child drank it and it stayed in the stomach too long it can go sour despite being fresh when drank. When I was young and running a fever I foolishly drank milk, within 1.5 hours I had brought it back up, now completely spoiled. So there is a chance it was negligence, but equally good if not better of a chance of it being natural.
No, I don't. The way it was phrased made it sound like the milk was spoiled going down, however- which I have seen way too many cases of parents giving their kids spoiled milk out of either malice, stupidity, or absent mindedness to have put the possibility out of mind. I've also never been able to keep unaged milk products down, so I have never had personal experience with with spoiling inside the body thing. That said, if that is what happened, then I have nothing but sympathy for the parents and kid.
