Today, my mother bitched me out for filing divorce papers against my abusive husband. According to her, it's a "slap in God's face". She's the one who's divorced two husbands so far because they weren't getting job promotions fast enough to support her hoarding habit. FML

Today, my daughter came over, furiously ranting that her husband had asked for a divorce. During the conversation, I asked what she did to make him happy. She glared at me and yelled, "It's not my job to make my husband happy!" I'm on her husband's side after that. FML

If your mother is well aware that your ex-husband was abusive and she still sees the divorce as a "slap in god's face", you should strongly consider cutting her out of your life. She should be supporting you for getting out of that marriage. And I do hope that you called her out on her past divorces.
