Today, I went to the dentist to get a filling. Instead of giving me Novocaine, my dentist decided he was going to use a special new paste on me while he drilled. It didn't work. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a cavity filled. The numbing medication didn't work, so I felt everything. I was in so much pain that I accidentally bit down on the dentist's finger, causing him to yell in agony. Now, I have to find a new dentist. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a tooth filled. The nurse just finished taking my info when the doctor came in and started drilling. Through my chorus of screams he realized he'd forgotten to numb me. His only response was, "Guess I forgot to numb ya, huh?" while giggling. FML

Today, I was at the dentist getting a cavity filled. As she's drilling into my tooth, I feel the drill slip, and then she quickly stuffs gauze into my mouth. She nervously laughs and says to me "Wow! You must really be numb!" FML

Today, I went to the dentist to have two cavities filled. I hate going to the dentist. After he'd started drilling, I heard a "clunk" noise followed by an "Oops." My dentist had cut my tooth in half. Now I have to get surgery to have the tooth extracted. FML

Today, the dentist had to give me a lot of novacaine because my mouth wasn't becoming numb. After the 4th time the entire right side of my mouth was numb, except for the 2 teeth getting worked on. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a hole in my tooth filled. After the dentist had injected the anesthetic into my gums, she realized that none of the electrical equipment was working. She sent me home. My entire right side of my face is completely numb and swollen for no reason. FML

Today, I was at the dentist's and she was hands deep in my mouth with a drill, when the power for the whole block shuts off. For 3 hours, the dentist had to keep shooting me up with shots to numb the horrible pain. FML

Today, I went to the dentist to get a cavity filled. As the dentist was drilling, he accidentally hit a nerve and I ended up screaming in pain. The whole office heard me and now I'm too embarrassed to go back. FML

Today, it was the fourth time I've had major dental work done, because my dentist messed up my root canal. After almost a dozen needles, three missed work days, over $1,000, and 2 broken tools, I only have a tiny, barely-successful filling to show for it. FML

Today, my dentist told me I have a cavity and blamed it on the "subpar" toothpaste I've been using - the same toothpaste he recommended six months ago at my last appointment. FML

You think thats bad? My dentist forgot to give me pain killers when I had a tooth REMOVED. I can tell you, THAT was painful.

that happened to me one time, except i was getting novican but I thought I would get the novicane through the mask, and I totally wasnet expecting the shot through the gums. it hurt!

#152 - You can't get novacaine through the mask. The gas that comes through the mask is most likely a mix of Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen, to make you relaxed prior to getting the novocaine injection, and throughout the procedure.

what he probably used was benzocaine a anesthetic thats used in pain relievers or cough drops. its also used in dental clinics around the world as a anesthetic gel.. its not his or your fault.. blame biology. people aren't all made the same. their are people who are sensitive and others not so. if he was getting into the dentin, you would need at least 1-2 shots to get numb. unlike most people, i need 3-4 shots to be able to not to feel anything.. im betting he was trying to stay in the enamel, but im thinking you'd still need the shot if it was a big enough cavity.. right im a loser.. carry on..
