I really can't believe all of the comments on this page claiming that this proposal is "cute" and that OP "doesn't deserve" her husband simply because she can't appreciate his "originality." First, just because YOU think the proposal is cute doesn't mean that OP does - or should - think the same thing. Maybe she ISN'T a fan of Pokemon, and therefore the proposal wasn't special to her. And is there really a problem with that? There's nothing wrong with disliking Pokemon, unless you honestly think that someone should be ridiculed simply for not liking the same things you like. I'm really getting tired of these self-proclaimed "nerds" who claim to be progressive and open-minded, yet they'll insult anyone who isn't a fan of Pokemon or Star Wars or other things like that. So, yeah, maybe OP isn't a fan of Pokemon, and in that case, it's perfectly understandable that she would be disappointed with this proposal. Secondly, a lot of people are saying, "Well, at least it's original!" Well, you know what? What if the husband had proposed in a way that was reminiscent of Jersey Shore? Like, what if he got down on one knee, presented the ring to her, and said, "Come at me, bro!" Suddenly, the people who are complaining that OP "doesn't appreciate" her husband would suddenly agree that her life sucks. Why? Because pretty much everyone hates Jersey Shore, especially the "nerd" police. So if a man proposed that way, it would certainly be original, and it would certainly be unique, but then you guys wouldn't be hating on OP because you don't like Jersey Shore. Apply that same logic to the Pokemon proposal. It doesn't matter that the proposal itself is original and unique - the ONLY reason you think it's cute is because it's "nerdy." Well, what if OP isn't into nerds? Are you really going to sit behind your computer screen and smugly say, "Well, you don't deserve him. Nerds are the coolest!" Really? You do realize that, by saying stuff like that, you're RIDICULING someone for not liking the same things you like. And, because you people hate "jocks" and "meatheads" so much, I'll go ahead and say this: in the 80's comedy movies where it was nerds vs. jocks, the reason the jocks were considered such jerks is because they would make fun of the nerds for not being into sports. Well, guess what? You're making fun of other people for not being into Pokemon. You're no different from "jocks" and "meatheads" you complain about, because YOU, like them, think you can sit back and judge people based solely on their interests. So, like I said - maybe OP doesn't like Pokemon. That's okay. It's not a law that she should like Pokemon, and it's perfectly understandable that someone who doesn't like Pokemon would be disappointed by this sort of proposal. All you people saying she "doesn't deserve him" are jerks. Get over yourselves.

FML Dah ****? No if a guy did that to me is break down crying and say yes cause it's so adorable then we'll have little anime baby's and grow old watching reruns of pokėmon and think back to the moment he proposed to me and wish we could life it all over again.
