Today, I tried to face my fears and take the elevator at the hotel I'm staying at. When the door opened, I was greeted with a taser pointed at me and, "Are you sure you want to get on this elevator?" Guess it's the stairs for me. FML

Hey OP here! I really really hate elevators, but we were on the 9th floor of our hotel, so that's a lot of stairs to do in cosplay (I was at a con). The elevator wasn't too bad actually but this happening set me back a bit. I reported it to the front desk as soon as I had calmed down, and security walked me back up. In the morning, they came back to take my full statement so they could file a proper police report. For the rest of the weekend, I was carrying my pepper spray and had my phone camera ready to take pictures if I saw them again. Thankfully I didn't.

A phobia is an irrational fear. Avoiding an elevator to escape being tazed, bro, is a rational fear.

I'm going to avoid the easy pun of "I bet you were shocked" and instead opt for "I know what the voices in your head will be buzzing about for the next few days."

Wow I haven't seen anything so forced since I was constipated

You called security, and the police, right?

Yes. Once I calmed down a bit, I went to the front desk and they had security walk me back up. They filed a police report and came back in the morning to take my statement

YDI. I wouldn't let a killer chipmunk into the elevator either.

It's almost a shame you did NOT see them. It would have been nice to have pictures of the face when they find out they are being kicked out of the hotel.

Yeah, definitely. I'm also upset that I didn't get a better look at them when it happened. It sounds like the elevators had cameras in them at least. Part of me wants to call the hotel and see what happened but part of me also says just let it go.

Wait. you were at a Con? and you took the guy seriously? who was he dressed as Solid Snake? P.s. Don't pepper spray or feed the cosplayers

I would too, honestly. A tazer isn't something you want to take lightly, if at high enough voltage they CAN kill you. Heck, their normal voltage can kill you. You're being electrocuted after all. Just because it was a con, didn't mean it was a fake threat, and is why some cons won't allow weapons at all even if they are fake.
