Today, after keeping myself awake coughing for 2 hours, I finally drifted off. My cat apparently thought I'd died, and gave me CPR. Now I have claw marks on my chest, and I'm still awake. FML

Hey, this is mine! The whole time I've been sick, said cat has been sleeping on my chest/face. Can't cough if you can't breathe, right?

The cat cares. You're lucky. Ask other cat owners.

I can sympathize with that. Just went through that coughing shit, but no claw marks, however the resident very fat cat usually jumps on the bed when I'm just drifting off. Wouldn't be so bad except we have a waterbed and it's like a tsunami when she lands.

I feel your pain. Our cat likes to jump on me right as I'm falling asleep. It's really jarring. The best I can tell you is to close your bedroom door, if you can. Maybe invest in a white noise machine if the cat gets loud.

The claw marks suck, but hey your fault for having a cat. :P Dogs rule!

If you are having problems coughing before bed put some kinda of Vicks or vapor rub on your feet and put socks on it stops the coughing and bonus makes your feet softer!

On your feet? I'd always put it on my chest. How does feet work?

Well that food bowl is not going to fill itself in the morning you know LOL!!!

Aw, your kitty loves you! S/he probably didn't mean to wake you up.

I heard this happening to someone once before (not here) go see your DR ...actually go to the ER NOW...your cat may be able to "smell" something bad...I don't want to scare anyone, but the person this happened to found out they had throat cancer and caught it in time thanks to the cat
