Good intentions

Today, I decided to declutter my closet and donate old clothes. Proud of my altruism, I packed everything into bags and drove to the donation center. As I handed over the bags, the volunteer looked at me sympathetically and said, "We're not accepting donations right now." So not only did I just Marie Kondo my wardrobe, I also managed to be a one-person traffic jam for nothing. FML

i mean you could always go to another donation center.... there's so many everywhere

Find another charity that will accept them.

Just because they didn’t accept your donation doesn’t automatically mean the entire day was a wash. You *did* clean up your living space, since if you were willing to part with these clothes they must not have been ones you wore often. And there may be salvation army collection points in your area like there are in mine, so you could go to one of those instead.

Find another charity that will accept them.

I remember Austin having a lot of bums (oops, unhoused individual-Americans) walking around. Just donate your clothes directly to them, or did Greg Abbott have them all shot?

I’ve tried donating all the time, and always get told what you were told. I now just toss old clothes in the trash now since no place wants to take them any more it seems. But great job on decluttering closets, I wish my wife would do that (I’m not dumb enough to tell her that though).

What kind of donation center ISN'T accepting donations? Isn't that the whole point?
