Best vacation ever

Today, I've been on vacation with my friend and his family for a week. Apparently, his idea of a vacation includes constant screaming arguments with his wife, while their kids sob in the living room. I tried to take the kids out once and got a lecture on boundaries, which started another huge fight. FML

I would ditch them. Either try to go home early, or find new lodgings. If neither of those are options then get hammered and stay that way til it's over.

Perhaps the wife of OP’s “friend” is jealous. That would make the situation still bad but easier to understand.

Damn, I’m sorry. Sometimes it seems like there’s no more civility in the world, like I get the husband and wife might’ve been having issues and going through a hard time, but for gods sake, it’s so rude and uncomfortable to unleash all that in front of a stranger and particularly the kids! I would try and make the best of it by taking the kids elsewhere in the lodging or going out on your own, and remind yourself to decline future offers to travel with them again! They say you see how people truly are when you travel with them.
