This is why I saved up and paid extra for my kids rat cage, we have cats, there is no way they can get into it. Maybe save for abit and get a cat proof one, sometimes we learn our lessons the hard way

This needs a follow up. If you let them near each other without supervision, you deserved it. If it just so happened that your hamster escaped and the kittens tracked it down, sorry for your loss.
