Today, I found out that my new husband is expecting two children: ours, due in January, and our 16-year-old neighbor's, due in March. FML

Just_Me_88 tells us more.

Well, I am OP, and I am indeed 23...I met my husband when I was 18....and his ex was 17. She "lied" to him about her age. I am amazed I have bought it for so long. Yup, he is certainly a soon-to-be ex. Right after he loses his jewels. (kidding...maybe, lol) My soon-to-be-ex just turned 36.

It says something awful about people that over 2100 have already said YDI. I'm sorry to hear that you had to deal with all of this, OP, and I hope that you can get through this as easily as possible and that he gets the unpleasant consequences that he deserves.

I hope you told her dad and watched as he kicked his ass. Your husband is disgusting and should be arrested. I'm sorry for this pain in your life.

I bet he makes a much better father from prison than he would in your life

Your husband may be going to prison before any babies are born.

I think you should get a free murder card for this one.

Call the police. It's statutory rape.

Does he realize he broke the law?

He probably does, but from what I've read from OP he doesn't seem to care.

OP, divorces are definitely a struggle; there's so much involved, especially if you have kids together. I wish you the best in all of this. It's definitely not easy, most of the right choices aren't. But, good on you for knowing what's best for you and your children at this point. He sounds like he doesn't deserve the joys of having kids and a family because he obviously doesn't respect them in the first place.

Let's put an end to the "14, 16, 18" debate, I checked the state law for Oregon: There exists a 3 year clause (if the partners are within 3 years of age, their respective ages don't matter), but it doesn't apply in this case as the age gap is greater. That said, assuming she was 16 (or 17) when they slept together, the only possible charge in Oregon would be: "Sexual Abuse 3 (Class A Misdemeanor)". (If she was 14 or 15, it would have been a Class C Felony: "Rape 3 / Sodomy 3") According to OP, the girl in question neither looks like nor acts like a child. I smell a complete, desperate, douche-bag, not a predator.
