Today, as every day for the past few weeks, my husband won't have sex. His reason? We've decided to have a baby, and he reckons that the longer he waits, the more competition there will be between his sperm and thus the better the result will be. FML

As much as I'd like to agree, the production of multiples happens on the mother's part. The amount of eggs released during ovulation or whether or not the fertilized egg splits during mitosis of the cell can result in a multiple fetuses and later infants. Not the amount of sperm released on the father's part.

I know this is a pun... but there's a nagging, know-it-all part of me that won't quit until I mention that the first sperm almost never fertilizes the egg. Sorry ><
