Today, I asked my class of fifth graders to write down a list of all the compound words they knew. At least four of them put down 'motherfucker'. FML

When I learned about compound words in third grade, I believe I wrote down "bitchass." When my parents were contacted my dad had to leave the classroom because he couldn't stop laughing.

Mah don't take it so hard, many siblings teach their younger siblings some swear words for unknown reasons. It's fairly normal unfortunately

For all the posters asking "Isn't it summer?" they probably attend a year-round school. When I was in school we would get out for summer in mid-June and come back early September. Then the school district voted to change to a year-round schedule, meaning we would begin summer in very early June and return late July. So these kids are probably on a year-round schedule; many districts throughout the US are on this schedule.

I'm sorry, but I can't stop laughing. That's just priceless. Of course, I would have been dead if I'd pulled that when I was a fifth-grader, but it's still hilarious. Kids these days. I do think, however, that it's time for a few parent-teacher discussions.

I find it stupid as hell that we made up words that we're not allowed to say. there is no ******* point in it they're just words for God's sake
