Today, I filled out a political survey for a psychology experiment. A really cute girl was doing it, too. We hit it off and flirted through the surveys, and I asked her out when it was done. Then I found out it was really an attraction experiment and she was in on it. She was acting. FML

Today, I signed up for a psych experiment. I was a damsel in distress on the side of the highway, but no one stopped. Back at the lab, another participant said a half-dozen people helped her. The professor was testing how attractiveness affects altruism. I was the unattractive subject. FML

Today, I was in the Student Union when a man a came up to me and asked if I wanted to be in a study to see how men acted differently when working with attractive women. Flattered and taken aback, I agreed. He then told me I would be part of the control group to see how they act around plain looking women. FML

Today, I discovered that the actress who played a girl I have a crush on faked her résumé. Not only that, but she wasn’t even interested in acting, she just wanted a job. And boom, she also voted for Trump. And I STILL have a crush on her character. FML

Today, I wanted to ask out this cute girl I used to work with. Before I could, she said she likes my only friend there, and asked if could I set them up. Trying to be nice guy and good friend, I did. Then she made her complete lack of interest in me obvious. But hey, at least the gay guy she hung out with thought I was cute. FML

Today, I was flirting with this guy that had been forced to be my lab partner for class. He was really funny and attractive, too. In the middle of our conversation he said "You're so cute! You remind me of my boyfriend!" FML

Today, my girlfriend of 3 years told me that I was part of an experiment for her Sociology doctorate. I also learned that the notebooks she's been writing in for the past three years aren't for her "doctorate in literature" as she had told me, they were notes on my behavior for the past 3 years. FML

Today, I was flirting with a girl I like when she confessed she was into another guy. I then proceeded to wingman for that guy, telling her to take her shot with him before the chance went away. Effectively sticking myself into the friendzone. FML

#5 - you need to take a psych class or two. There are plenty of experiments done on humans influencing their emotions all the time. OP - don't feel bad. Experiments like this are done all the time. It happens to a lot of guys.

I would have horked on her for that. She can put that in her results. "Today I conducted a human emotions experiment. I led this guy on, he asked me out. I told him this was an act and he horked in my eye."

I hope you realize she was probably just being paid to act in someone else's experiment. Experiments like this need to be approved by ethics committees.

Actually, I don't think these things do happen anymore. I call this a fake. You aren't allowed to mess with a person's emotions during an experiment, and you have to tell them what the experiment is about beforehand. At the very least they would have had to of told him that the experiment was over attraction, not politics.

Fail. You will never get a result anywhere close to the real thing if you tell your subjects what you are up to. Studies like this are done all the time, grow up, stop being a china doll. FYL OP, I understand the humiliation.

I think a lot of those are done today. what is up with the replies? You can't have useful results out of a psychology experiment if you tell all the details to the participants.

17 that makes no sense, if they told him what the experiment was it would be pointless. he willingly signed up for a psychology experiment of course it was going to involve some manipulation.
