I have a fox and a dog as a pet. To my understanding it isn't illegal. I think people just don't think of them as traditional pets and automatically assume it must be wrong. Just guessing though

Got curious and decided to look it up, as far as I can find information, it's illegal since 2014 to have a pet fox in the Netherlands.

Are you kidding? People always say "he looks just like a fox!" about my shiba without any prompting. It's the red coloring and triangular face.
My Shiba's nickname is fox-dog. She even has her own theme song (na na na na na fox dog!!! to the tune of the batman song). And when we go places, people always make comments about how she looks like a fox. So yeah, it's pretty normal to hear.
