Today, I went swimming with this guy I like at dammed river. While we were jumping off the dam, I decided to try to impress him by doing a front flip. I didn't jump far enough off, so when I went to flip, my face skidded down the concrete wall. FML

Today, we were hanging around the pool with a couple of friends and a crush of mine. Thinking I would be able to impress her with a well-performed dive off the diving board, I went up and attempted my best dive. I slipped as I jumped, hitting my head on the board. I had to be saved by the lifeguard. FML

Today, I tried to impress our swim team coach by doing a complicated backflip from the diving board. I landed face-first in the pool and had to be rescued by the lifeguard, so I guess I won't be going to the Olympics any time soon. FML

Today, at the pool, I decided to face my fears and go off the high dive. I slipped off the edge and did a barrel roll into the pool while screaming like a little girl. FML

Today, I thought I'd impress my friends with a backflip into the pool. I ended up smacking my back on the edge of the diving board and belly-flopping into the water. Now I have a bruise and a story that everyone is intent on retelling. I'm just glad no one was filming me. I hope. FML

Today, me and my friend were following this hot lifeguard around a waterpark. In the wave pool, I decided to be cute and "accidentally" bump into him during the waves to start a conversation. As I prepared to do this, a large wave pushed me off my feet and I fell face-first into his butt. FML

Today, I was at the beach with a group of friends, including the guy I like. As soon as we got to the beach, I ran toward the water and he chased after me. It was a beautiful moment until I looked back at him, tripped, fell on my face and slid down the beach. FML

Today, on a date, I told the guy I could swim. He suggested we race. I agreed to impress him. I jumped in, immediately panicked, inhaled water, and had to be helped out by a 10-year-old with floaties. He asked if I lied about anything else. FML

This isn't an FML, considering that it COULD have ended with "and now I'm paralyzed from the neck down!!! Don't EVER jump head first, or do a flip or leap into water that you're unfamiliar with, were you can't see the bottom or that isn't meant for swimming. Your story is so similar to every water paralysis story I've read I'm shivering. You're one very lucky idiot.

Yeah, if you're face skidded against a concrete wall I think that there would be enough blood loss to kill you in about 5 minutes, not to mention the parasites in the water that would now have a free brain lunch. Stil, I could be wrong, so I'm just gonna do both FYL and YDI.

Haha something sort of like this happened to me. Except I wasn't trying to impress anyone I just wanted to be the first girl to jump off the very top(: I jumped off of the top of this like I don't know 50-60 foot bridge? And instead of landing in just the water like everyone else, I landed on the rocks, seriously spraining both my feet.. But on the bright side, I was the first girl to jump off the top :D Anyway I put YDI and FYL. Haha
